As its moniker suggests, this fine dining establishment's proximity to the San Antonio River is its claim to fame. Located on a stretch of the watercourse that is noticeably less commercial than other parts of the River Walk, Biga offers much more than an exceptional view. A popular upscale dining destination for tourists and convention-goers, Biga features no boring menu, as the featured fare changes nightly. Meal starters include smoked salmon nachos and chicken fried oysters. If your discerning palate requires fine wine with your meal, you'll likely find Biga's selection of Texas wines and one-of-a-kind vintages impressive. Dining alone? Or eating on the run? Then the nightly Noodle Bar and Sunday's Hot and Spicy brunch may be more your style. A subtle bonus to Biga's ambience is its tasteful artwork, which ranges from quirky wall-mounted bread pan art and a bottle-gourd sculpture to fine paintings. For the full Biga's experience, reserve the Chef's Table for a multicourse sampler with a full view of acclaimed chef Bruce Auden at work. -- Chris Jones

Best Place in San Antonio
By KKL83 on 07/09/2008
We have eaten at Biga on the Banks many times since we moved to San Antonio summer 2007. It is the best thing that has ever happened to San Antonio's taste buds. Bruce (head chef) and Andy (sioux chef) create phenomenal food. The chef's tasting menu is spectacular!! The waiters are great and extremely helpful. We always ask for Kim because she does an exceptional job. Our family is all coming to town this December and we are looking forward to treating them to Biga on the Banks.

THIS RESTAURANT EMPLOYS THIEVES
By EvilHudsonLTJ on 05/18/2008
The valets at this restaurant stole my property out of my car. When I asked where the ******* was who parked my car they couldn't find him, strangely enough. They didn't seem to care. This restaurant employs thieves. DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE, THE VALETS WILL STEAL FROM YOU.
