With its beautifully refurbished and enormous wooden fireplace bar, ornate ceiling moldings and subtle Art Deco flourishes, Barcelona is the ideal spot for a sophisticated tete-a-tete. Although the seating is somewhat cramped, the acoustics are such that you can have a private conversation, making this the perfect spot for a first date. In the summer, the patio is a fenced-in riot of greenery, cast-iron seating and gas-lit lamps. The reasonably priced menu changes periodically, so we encourage you to truly savor a dish while it's available -- you may not find it here the next time you stop by. There are, however, a couple of perennial crowd-pleasers that are usually kept on the menu: sumptuous paella, calamari with spicy mint-herb mayonaise, and the signature Barcelona pasta, which is prepared with garlic, tomatoes and red onions. If you're lucky, you may just find some tasty pizzas as well.

We were impressed
By Peterandmarge on 10/02/2008
We took two friends from Baltimore, MD because they wanted to try OUR tapas offerings. They were impressed with the calimari, a great recommendation from world travelers. The wait staff did an excelent job, Ashley seemed to anticipate our inclings and was most helpful with suggestions. We will return! Bill, Pat, Pete and Marge

i liked to go to Barcelona in the past until they copped an attitude. The host was rude and acted like their were no tables when the place was practically empty! The food was okay but inconsistent. The dessert I ordered was the banana pie and it was good for 3 bites...Cameron Mitchell has it figured out...charge over $5 for a dessert and make it worth it, guys!

More style than substance. Good drinks, but food is average at best.
