It can truly be said that Canoe is an oasis in Atlanta's "restaurantscape." There are precious few dining experiences with a view of water to be had in this city, and Canoe is a prime locale. The Chattahoochee flows quietly along its low banks at this part of the river where Buckhead meets Vinings, and the restaurant's manicured lawn, which runs right down to the water, is a wonderful setting, whether you're seated inside or out. Canoe's menu holds particular regional delights, including Vidalia Spring Onion Soup, with smoked bacon and cream sherry, vine ripe tomato salad and Slow Roasted Carolina Rabbit. A wonderfully varied choice of seafood dishes is available for lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch, with seasonal treats such as softshell crabs. A special feature is the Chef's Market Menu, which is available to entire tables only. This four-course tasting menu changes often. Ask for details when you arrive. Canoe's stone, wood and glass interior perfectly complements its natural setting, with comfortable booths to settle into. A recipient of a Mobil 4 Star Award, it is available for corporate events, wedding ceremonies and celebrations. Call 770-436-9292 for further information. -- Edna McCown

Best place in town for lunch, dinner or brunch!!!
By NatashaLC on 09/26/2008
I absolutely adore Canoe! Have been there for special occasions, for special events (weddings & corporate functions) and numerous times for just a relaxing brunch, quick business lunch or top shelf dinner and everything is always fantastic. The management really cares about their clientele, Executive Chef Carvel rocks everything on the menu and the serving staff is tier 1. I have never had a bad meal or service there and will continue going there, as well as recommending it to everyone. For the comment on reducing a rating because a restaurant ran out of something - that's because its that good! And remember, the early bird gets the worm!

beautiful scenery, delicious food
By Bradley788 on 08/14/2008
When I want to take someone or a group for a nice brunch, I always pick Canoe. Their prices can be steep, which is why I only go for brunch as the entrees run about $10-$20 . They have a great selection of fresh baked pastries and scones, the coffee is so flavorful, and every dish I have ordered has been delicious. On top of the food, the staff are so friendly and helpful, and the service is impeccable. My only complaint was the last time I went my companion wanted to order the quiche which they were out of; I really get annoyed when restaurants "run out" of things on the menu. This is the only reason I gave canoe 4 and not 5 stars

This is a destination restaurant for mussels. I request that they be served right at the time the shells open. The wait staff has never missed the timing. This is a very good restaurant with a menue that satisfies.
